The London Disputes Group at this high profile US firm focus their efforts on high value complex litigation and international arbitration matters, increasingly in relation to Investment Treaty Arbitration & Public Law matters. The team focus on both commercial arbitration involving cases conducted under the auspices of the major international arbitral institutions (including the ICC, LCIA and ZCC) as well as a public law arbitration brought under bilateral and multi-lateral investment treaties (including cases under ICSID and UNCITRAL rules). The team incorporates English solicitors, solicitor-advocates, with many of the associates and partners qualified to practise in other jurisdictions.
Partners at the firm are now keen to hear from associates that have a strong academic profile with 3-5 years' relevant PQE, ideally including English contract law, arbitration and English High Court litigation experience, banking regulatory disputes, contentious EU law matters and practical knowledge of investment treaty law. Furthermore, applicants should possess excellent written communication, drafting skills, while the ability to demonstrate initiative is a pre-requisite. Language skills are also desirable especially Russian, Arabic, Spanish, French, Italian, German or Mandarin.
The successful candidate(s) will act for a range of clients, including sovereign states, multinational companies and major institutions in the commercial, telecommunications, engineering, energy and the financial services sectors, undertaking multi-jurisdictional litigation and international arbitrations.
This is a rare and compelling opportunity that will appeal to the most ambitious and career orientated disputes lawyers. Those craving increased responsibility and opportunity to work on the most complicated and challenging international matters will not be disappointed and ultimately will thrive within an environment that supports associates development/achievement.
