The Practice
 
Our Real Estate practice has wide experience in all aspects of commercial real estate.  It has significant experience in investment transactions, development, town centre redevelopment and regeneration and insolvency-related transactions and advice. It also has experience in business restructuring and insolvency.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
 
Acting for M&G retail fund the purchase of Riverside House in London, HQ of OFCOM, for £120m from IVG.
 
Advising The Crown Estate on the forward funding of a retail park.
 
Acting for the Church Commissioners on the disposal and development arrangements for a gateway site in Peterborough.
 
Advising The Crown Estate on the structuring and disposal of 50% of its holding in St James' Market to Oxford through a limited partnership and headlease to facilitate the development of two landmark buildings.
 
Selling Anglia Retail Park in Ipswich for Equitable Life.
 
Advising Hermes, and previously Prudential, on strategic asset management arrangements at Centre:mk.
 
Advising M&G on its shopping centres at Grafton Centre Cambridge; Cwmbran Town Centre; and Manchester Arndale.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
 
TECHNICAL ABILITY
 
Understanding of legal principles of own practice area, along with a working knowledge of other practice areas
Has project management responsibility, ensuring timely delivery to high quality standards
Stays aware of legal developments affecting any specialist areas and regularly attends appropriate training sessions

Candidate Profile

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

We are looking for an experienced Real Estate associate. Ideally their experience will have been gained at a leading City firm. It is essential that the candidate has a strong academic background (minimum 2.1 degree or equivalent) with excellent written communication and drafting skills. The successful candidate will also have outstanding technical skills, together with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues and work well in a team. The ideal candidate will have between three and four post qualification experience (or equivalent experience).
