General Commercial 5pqe+ - flexible / part-time work
The client:
Our client is an extremely progressive, Sussex-based law firm delivering services to business leaders and in-house lawyers in companies ranging from large, global enterprises to SMEs as well as advising individuals and families. Their solicitors counsel regional, national and international clients on a very broad spectrum of practice areas from offices in both Sussex and Kent. Particular legal specialisms including aviation, travel, charity and brain injury law as well as services for vulnerable people.
The role:
This firm realises the benefit to its own clients of being able to provide a full-service offering in one place and without the cost associated with London-based practices. We are working with this client to build a 'bench' of lawyers in different niche specialisms for it to work with on a long-term flexible basis - as and when the need arises. Our client is extremely savvy and aware that top-notch lawyers are often forced to leave traditional practice in pursuit of more flexible or predictable climes. If you are commercial lawyer from a top-tier City or regional firm or in-house background and looking to work on a portfolio basis for your own clients, please get in touch. Our client is seeking to interview and build this panel in advance, so that when the need arises, getting you on board can be swift and effective.
The person:
You will be a Commercial Solicitor with at least 5 years PQE working with good national or City firms. You will be looking for real flexibility and the opportunity to fit your work around your lifestyle rather than the other way around. You may be a working parent or someone who has other interests outside of work that normal, full time work can hinder. The pay rate is excellent but, because of the unpredictable work flow, this would not suit a Commercial Solicitor who needs absolute certainty in their monthly income.
The pay:
The exact level of remuneration is yet to be agreed and will depend on the level and background of candidates and the various projects that arise. However, as a guide, the rate is likely to be £60 to £120 per hour depending on experience.
