The Banking group at Simmons & Simmons operates a globally fully-integrated practice.  As a leader in the real estate finance field, the practice acts for banks, borrowers, funds, mezzanine lenders, issuers, arrangers and rating agencies on a local and cross-border basis in Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia.

The Real Estate Finance Practice at Simmons & Simmons has a stated ambition to be the Real Estate Finance industry’s favourite firm, the number one practice in the UK market and the “go to” practice internationally.  The clients are drawn from the wide range of players in the market currently, the commercial banks, investment banks, Wealth banks, insurance lenders, debt funds as well as the borrower clients.  We are broad and deep working on the most complex multi-jurisdictional structured finance transactions through to vanilla senior debt lending.  Investment, development and property business/cash-flow finance are all included with a particular sub-specialism in hotel financing.  We are closely integrated with colleagues in real estate, construction, planning, tax, capital markets, regulatory and corporate, both nationally and internationally.

The role:

We are looking for several Real Estate Finance Associates to join our growing Bristol office. Primarily focussing on real estate finance there would be opportunities to get involved in a variety of other banking work, working with a number of partners in the group as well as with the wider financial markets practice across our international offices.

Person Specification:

  • Excellent academics
  • 2-5 years’ post qualification real estate finance experience which will have been gained at another top City or regional practice
  • Strong client focus with an ability and willingness to get actively involved in marketing and business development
  • Commercially driven
  • Able to work effectively as part of a diverse and inclusive team
  • Flexibility and a willingness to work additional hours on occasion as required
  • Committed to working in the Bristol area and willingness to travel to London
