The Information, Communications & Technology (ICT) practice group forms part of our wider Corporate & Commercial Group. The ICT group works for suppliers and users of telecoms, media and technology goods and services as well as outsourcing and other large commercial contracts. It also provides related advisory services (such as data protection). It is a standalone team (rather than forming part of the Corporate or Intellectual Property teams) and it has a strong track record of maintaining and growing its own client base. It works closely with most other groups in the firm (e.g. on corporate transactions) but most of the work within the group is self-generated.
We are seeking two associates to join the growing team in our Bristol office. This role would support the UK ICT team (in London and Bristol) and provide an additional dimension to our London offering. We see the Bristol and London team operating as a cohesive unit, with partner resource in both Bristol and London and the associates in both locations working as one team.
This is an opportunity to work on high-value and often high profile matters. We are looking for associates with experience in handling general commercial contracts and some of the ICT work described above. This is a great opportunity to work with a firm which has an excellent reputation for the quality of ICT work that it undertakes. In 2013/2014 the ICT team has been shortlisted for two separate legal industry awards for “TMT Team of the Year” for two transactions for Telefónica with a combined value of £2.7bn.
We are looking for two associates with ideally between two and five years’ PQE. They will be expected to work with one Partner predominantly based in the Bristol office and other Partners and associates across other offices, as part of a collegiate and supportive international group.
- Excellent academics;
- Applicants should have gained experience at a firm with a credible commercial/ICT practice and should ideally have between 2 – 5 years’ post qualification experience;
- Strong client focus with the ability to work effectively as part of a diverse and inclusive team;
- Flexibility and a willingness to work additional hours on occasion as required.
