Our client is a leading UK financial institution, currently looking to hire a senior corporate lawyer for a predominantly advisory role. The position will involve working closely with the corporate governance function across the large group of companies and working within a team which supports the Head Office. You would be aware of high profile deals that the organisation are involved in but only a small percentage of the work would be transactional, more supporting the corporate secretariat, investor relations and finance divisions. You will need listed company experience, a good regulatory understanding and the credibility to deal with senior stakeholders. Assisting more junior lawyers as well as trainees and secondees will offer a varied workload and you should expect to have to turn your hand to a breadth of different issues.
It is envisaged that this position would suit a lawyer with 7 years plus post qualified experience although all applicants will be considered on merit. A magic, silver circle or city background is required although you may already be in-house within a corporate team either in financial services or a blue chip company. Our client is looking for someone who can learn quickly, get stuck in and is flexible about what the work that they do.
