The Job
We are seeking to recruit an Associate to work in our International Arbitration Group in London. The main duties and responsibilities will include assisting in interviewing witnesses and drafting witness statements, drafting pleadings and submissions, managing correspondence with tribunals and opposing counsel, working with damages experts and undertaking legal research. In addition the Associate may be required to assist the Anti-Corruption and International Trade and Finance practice groups advising on both US and European economic sanctions.

The Candidate
The successful candidate will possess a strong academic record and background in both law and economics and will have trained and worked at a Magic Circle and/or a reputable large City or International organisation with a high-profile practice in the International Arbitration field, particularly within the energy sector with experience advising clients on price review disputes under long-term GSAs/SPAs.   

The successful candidate will be familiar with the economic and legal arguments arising under price review disputes, and have experience analysing economic data, and working with witness and expert evidence on gas market developments within the European and American marketplace.

They will be able to demonstrate solid and substantive experience working successfully in each of the key areas listed under the job description. The successful candidate will also have a track record of producing high profile publications in the field and of active involvement in key professional associations. An international focus and outlook is essential and can be demonstrated by having worked or  trained within the law overseas and/or having studied overseas, as well as having experience of the UK market.

Salary is at a competitive market rate, exact salary package is dependent on experience.
