King makes great games that offer fun, bite-size entertainment experiences for everyone to enjoy. They make games for the web at www.king.com, on mobile devices (both iOS & Android) and for social networks. Candy Crush Saga is Facebook's #1 app, and is the number one mobile download game in many countries. Their other global hits include Pet Rescue Saga, Bubble Witch Saga and Farm Heroes Saga. They are in the process of taking their best titles to smartphones and tablets and with a catalogue of over 150 titles, they regularly launch new games on the web. Reporting to the Senior IP Counsel, (2 - 4 pqe), you will ideally have both non-contentious and contentious experience. You will assist in the management and support of their trade mark portfolio and the use and protection of King's brands.
- Providing legal advice and risk assessments on our use of IP including copyright and trademark issues
- Managing complex international IP work, liaising with our games studios and external counsel to ensure all appropriate IP registration, applications, oppositions and defences are properly and timely made
- Working with our games studios and product teams to review new games from the IP perspective
- Managing any IP related disputes and litigation
To be successful you will be collaborative, proactive, commercial and creative. The ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects, effectively prioritise and work under demanding deadlines whilst showing a good sense of humour, is essential. This position will best suit an entrepreneurial individual keen to move into a dynamic, growing company. You will have qualified in well-respected law firms in the UK or other EU jurisdictions and be able to demonstrate excellent academics.
