We have an opportunity for an outstanding mid-level IP lawyer to join our Communications, Media and Technology group on a Fixed Term Contract basis.
The Communications, Media and Technology group is part of the Corporate department and has grown due to a recent merger between the commercial, IP and TMT groups. It now comprises 4 partners, 10 associates, 3 trainees, 2 trademark records paralegals and 1 information officer as well as wider support from Corporate. The combined group does a broad range of non-contentious work. In addition to its focus on the converging areas of information technology, Internet, e-commerce, telecoms, media and entertainment law, it handles commercial work in other sectors, including healthcare, as well as housing the London office's IP practice, which has a contentious capability.
The group combines a multi-disciplinary practice which stands out from our competitors as thought leaders for the range and international scope of the projects, deals we handle and advice we provide. Key attractions include the breadth and calibre of work, the international scope of work/ opportunity for travel, opportunity to be involved in business development and opportunity to work very closely with client organisations and a very friendly, informal and meritocratic group.
We are looking for an outstanding mid level IP lawyer, with transactional and contentious experience as well as advisory work across a range of industry sectors, including TMT. In all cases, candidates should have first class legal ability coupled with a practical commercial approach, excellent drafting and communication skills and enjoy being part of a friendly outgoing team which is strong in originating its own mandates. Some experience of trademark clearance, prosecution and opposition work would be an advantage.
In order to provide outstanding client service, we need to understand, anticipate and fulfil the unique needs and expectations of each client. To help deliver this core part of our business strategy, we want to recruit lawyers who are not only technically excellent but who are also client focused.
