A premier international law firm.
The firm is currently looking to hire a highly technical and 'hands-on' associate with a strong enthusiasm for, and understanding of, the practical and technical elements of hard IP law, including for example computer source coding, electronic engineering, maths, physics or computer programming.
The ideal candidate will not just be degree-educated in one of these areas, but will be keen to regularly use their skills and knowledge of one or more of these disciplines as part and parcel of their legal role, on a day to day basis.
By way of example, the successful candidate could be reviewing computer source code as part of a software theft case, or conducting a review of 3G mobile telephone technology from a technical and legal standpoint.
Applicants should have a willingness to undertake this kind of work and a genuine understanding (not purely at academic level) of the functional issues involved.
The firm would expect the successful candidate to have around 3-4pqe in intellectual property dispute resolution, but would consider those with less or more experience providing they meet the required competencies
Academic excellence is essential with a 2:1 degree (or equivalent).
