Ortolan Legal is a very different law firm.  We provide our clients with ‘virtual’ in house legal support and this is delivered by experienced solicitors, many of whom have considerable experience as in house lawyers.  We aim to give highly commercial and technically strong advice and we do this at a cost which compares extremely favourably with other, more conventional legal practices.  SRA authorised and registered, from a standing start in late 2009 we have grown strongly and our impressive client base includes businesses ranging from airports and multinational manufacturers to proprietor managed companies in sectors as diverse as rail, security and marketing communications. 

Our lawyers work either from home or (less frequently) from our clients’ offices and are supported by all the technology they need to provide an excellent service.  We meet up regularly as a team and we promote a highly flexible working environment.  We are collegiate in the way we manage our business and we aim to put everyone in a position not only to achieve a great deal of job satisfaction, but also to really enjoy working with us.

We need to add to our team now and are looking for lawyers (solicitors or barristers) who are specialists in the areas of commercial property or commercial litigation and would like to join a business like ours.  We would expect the successful candidate to have excellent academic and work credentials and at least 7 years PQE.  Equally importantly, you will need to be a good fit with our small team; so as well as being charismatic and personable, you will also be highly motivated, client focused and will have a demonstrably commercial approach with bags of initiative. 

Although we are growing quickly, at the moment we would not be able to guarantee sufficient work  to occupy someone full-time in these areas, so we are interested in people who would enjoy the flexibility of working from home but do not want to make a full time commitment.  We are open-minded in our approach to compensation and would aim to agree terms with any successful applicant which offered an appropriate reward.  We don’t expect you to come with a client following, but if you did bring new clients into our business, you would also be rewarded for that.
