About Hogan Lovells
Hogan Lovells is a leading global law firm, with 2,500 lawyers working in over 40 offices in Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and the United States. Our scale and capability positions us amongst the global elite of law firms, and provides our trainees with an international stage on which to develop their legal career.
Our recruitment and training policy is very simple: our success as a firm depends on our ability to attract and retain the brightest and most able people. Your training and development will reflect the nature and ambitions of the firm as a whole; you will be guaranteed to have a genuinely broad experience of our wide ranging practice areas and be immersed in Hogan Lovells' team-based structure.
Trainees at Hogan Lovells spend six months in four different areas of the practice to gain as much experience as possible. All trainees must spend six months in a corporate or finance seat, and six months gaining contentious experience in our dispute resolution practice.
You have the option of spending time in the second year of training on secondment to one of our international offices or to the in-house legal team of a major client.
Trainees are offered as much responsibility as they can handle as well as a comprehensive skills training programme, regular reviews, appraisals, and support. After qualification continuous training and professional development remain a priority.
Our application pool opened on October 1 2013 for all applications including training contracts starting in February and August 2016.
Applications will close on:
31 March 2014 for non-law students and graduates, and 31 July 2014 for law students.
We offer up to 70 places over two highly regarded summer vacation schemes and one winter vacation scheme. If you join us, you will be working alongside partners, associates and trainees for up to three weeks in key practice areas such as corporate, finance and litigation.
You will experience the role of a trainee first-hand through drafting documents, attending meetings, doing legal research and where possible, attending court. Your hands-on learning will be complemented with tailored workshops, discussions and social events – giving you the chance to experience the best of all worlds.
Vacation scheme students are paid £300 per week. The closing date for summer vacation scheme applications is 17 January 2014.
We also hold a one-week spring vacation scheme and two open days for first year law students throughout the academic year. Information on the dates and application deadlines for these events can be found on our website at www.hoganlovells.com/graduates or by applying now by clicking on the Apply Now button.
