King & Wood Mallesons is a new choice of law firm bringing a fresh perspective to commercial thinking and client experience. Strategically positioned in the world’s growth markets, more than 2,700 lawyers in more than 30 international offices are cutting through the challenges facing business, providing commercial solutions, and transforming the way legal services are delivered. As the only firm in the world able to practise English, European, PRC, Hong Kong and Australian law, we are unrivalled in our ability to connect clients with opportunities in and out of the key Asian growth markets. We are able to provide top quality legal advice, with genuine capability and real cultural understanding in each of the markets we operate. This presents very exciting opportunities for our trainees.

Training
The two-year training contract consists of four six-month seats, with trainees spending two seats (which may include a seat abroad) within mergers & acquisitions, equity capital markets, private equity, venture capital and private funds. We are keen to give you early responsibility and trainees are generally assigned a partner and associate as supervisors who will monitor your progress and development. You will be fully supported throughout your training contract.
Training Contracts
We have 30 vacancies for training contracts commencing in August 2018 or February 2019.
Vacation Schemes
We offer an Easter scheme and two summer schemes. You will be in one practice area for the duration of the scheme where you will gain hands-on legal experience and have the support of a supervising trainee, associate and partner. Every morning begins with a different practice area talk to enable you to understand what type of work the firm is involved with and the responsibilities fee-earners in those areas have. However, it’s not all work! Apart from a fun negotiation game, we also organise various evening social events throughout the scheme so you can get to know trainees and partners.
Open Days
We hold a number of open days in November and December. These are informal events designed to give you an insight into the work, people and culture of the firm. Applications must be submitted as soon as possible after 1 October as places become filled quickly.
How to apply
We welcome applications from all degree disciplines. To apply you must be in your penultimate year of a law degree, a final year non-law undergraduate or a graduate.
All applications must be made using the firm’s on-line form available by clicking on the Apply Now button.
The closing date for applications is:
31 July 2015 for training contracts commencing in August 2018 / February 2019.
