We currently have nine global offices – London, Abu Dhabi, Berlin, Brussels, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Moscow, Paris and Singapore. Having opened three new offices in 2011 alone, the firm continues to grow both in the UK and internationally.
Types of work

The firm delivers first-rate, pragmatic legal advice that helps a wide portfolio of clients including FTSE 100 companies and financial institutions, major multinationals, the public sector, entrepreneurial private businesses and individuals – to achieve their goals. Our areas of expertise include: commercial contracts; corporate finance; defence and aerospace; dispute resolution; energy and natural resources; EU & competition; finance; healthcare and education; hotels, leisure and gaming; human resources; insurance; intellectual property; outsourcing; public sector; real estate; retail; regulatory and compliance; restructuring & insolvency; tax; technology, media and telecoms; and transport and infrastructure.
When recruiting trainees, our focus is on quality rather than quantity. As a result, our trainees are rewarded with a high degree of responsibility and involvement underpinned by an exceptional standard of training and support. BLP has always prided itself on providing the right environment for people to grow. Trainees spend six months in four seats and their progress is reviewed every three months. The majority of trainees will gain experience within the Real Estate, and Corporate Finance departments and undertake a contentious seat during their training contract. Client secondments are a popular choice, and there is the opportunity to undertake an international seat if this is of interest. Our people believe BLP to be a genuinely innovative and friendly firm with a refreshing lack of hierarchy; our open-door policy is something that our trainees value tremendously.
GDL & LPC+
The firm developed and runs the UK’s first tailor-made LPC Course, called the LPC+. All future trainees study at the College of Law’s Moorgate branch, where tutors are joined by BLP lawyers and L&D experts who help to deliver some of the sessions, using BLP precedents and documents, and discussing how theory is applied to real cases and transactions. Future trainees study the GDL at the College of Law (at any UK location).
Sponsorship - GDL and LPC+ fees paid and £7,200 maintenance p.a
Vacation schemes are an ideal opportunity to gain some first-hand experience of life at BLP, getting to know us better, obtaining a feel for the work that we do and our culture, before then being automatically considered for a training contract. Schemes are run during winter, spring and summer, with approximately 100 vacancies available each year. Applications accepted online before 31 January each year.
We are currently recruiting for training contracts commencing in 2015 and 2016. We aren’t just looking for talented individuals with bright attitudes and brilliant minds. We’re looking for people who can take complex, often pressurised commercial situations in their stride. Individuals with a hunger and passion to achieve more. The sort of people our clients want on their side and will ask for by name. Applications must be received by 31 July 2013 and we require 340 UCAS points (AAB) at A Level and for you to be on course (or to have obtained) for a minimum 2:1 degree. The first year trainee salary is £37,000, rising to £41,000 in second year.
