The Training Contract
The training programme at Simmons & Simmons is constantly evolving to build the skills you will need to be successful in the fast moving world of international business. The firm provides experience in a range of areas of law and a balanced approach to gaining the knowledge, expertise and abilities you will need to qualify in the practice area of your choice
We provide our trainees with financial assistance during law school. We will pay your tuition fees for the GDL, LPC and the MBA, and give you a maintenance grant. The maintenance grant for the GDL will be £5,000 if you study outside of London and £6,500 if you study within London. For the LPC you will receive a maintenance grant of £7,500 and you will be required to study at BPP law school in London. We also offer a voluntary MBA course and cover fees and provide you with a £15,000 maintenance grant.
You will also have the option of taking a £2,000 loan prior to the start of your training contact, to help with expenditure on everything from rental deposits to a new suit!
The Vacation Scheme
The firm's internship schemes are one of the primary means of selecting candidates for a career at Simmons & Simmons. Your placement will enable you to gain first-hand experience of a busy and dynamic international law firm, as well as gain exposure to everything from the firm's service areas to the kinds of deals and transactions the firm works on.
The two week summer internship is open to penultimate year law students, final year non law students, international and mature students, graduates and those changing career.
The spring internship scheme lasts for one week and is a great opportunity for first year law students and penultimate year non-law students to get an in-depth view of the firm at an early stage of their studies.
Open Days and Insight Workshops
Simmons & Simmons also runs three day winter insight workshops aimed specifically at final year non-law students, and non-law graduates. Finally, a series of open days, available to all undergraduates, graduates, mature and international students are run throughout the year.

The training contract application process is currently open and will close on 31 March 2013 (non-law finalists and all graduates) and 31 July 2013 for penultimate year law students.
