Senior Legal Counsel, iconic automotive multinational

An opportunity has arisen for a commercial lawyer to join a well known international manufacturing business based  in the Midlands area.   This position has arisen to facilitate the business growing and a need to increase the legal function.  This is an iconic British business which sells its products all over the world and has a turnover of approximately £500m. 

Reporting into the Head of Legal, you will form part of a legal and compliance team of 5 and you will be one of the more experienced lawyers in the team.  This is a role which will see you working with on all parts of the business from sales, marketing, procurement, finance, operations and risk teams both in the UK and internationally.

The focus of this role is contractual in nature and you will draft, negotiate and review a wide range of commercial contracts including distribution agreements, supply agreements, technology agreements, consultancy agreements etc.  Having said that this is a very varied role and you would also have the opportunity to get involved in wider legal areas such as IP, compliance and data protection.

We are keen to hear from commercial lawyers with at 4 or 5 years PQE gained in private practice or a leading in-house team.  If you are a more experienced lawyer looking for a new challenge then we would love to hear from you as well.  This opportunity will suit a personable out-going and down to earth lawyer who enjoys undertaking a varied role and working closely with business colleagues.   Due to the growth of the business, it is likely that there are good progression opportunities for a lawyer who is keen to progress on a medium to long term basis.

This position is located centrally in the midlands and commutable from Birmingham and the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.
