All levels
Our client is one of the biggest commercial law firms in the UK with offices around the country. The Corporate Group spans all of the firm's offices and is ranked as a tier 1 practice.
The Corporate Real Estate team is a specialist team with an exceptional client roster and growing reputation as the go-to team across the UK, it specialises in advising fund managers, investors, property companies (both public and private) and developers on complex corporate wrapped real estate transactions, including investments/divestments, joint ventures and corporate restructurings as well as the associated management arrangements.
The team currently consists of two partners and six fee earners and interacts closely with the wider firm Real Estate, Tax, Finance and Regulatory teams.
The team has historically been based in London, but it is now looking to recruit an experienced Corporate lawyer in Leeds to support its offering across the UK and overseas. Working closely with a leading partner in the market (who spends much of his time in the Leeds office), you will work on a wide range of transactions (including complex UK, international and cross-border real estate joint ventures; and big-ticket corporate wrapped real estate acquisitions and disposals). As one of the premier teams in the UK for this work, the successful applicant will be working on some of the best work of this type in the country.
The firm are open as to the level of the role - ideally, the successful applicant should have at least 4 years Corporate experience but junior lawyers with the right aptitude and desire to move into a new, challenging area are also very much of appeal. Prior experience in the real estate sector is beneficial but not essential and will certainly not prevent a candidate from being considered where relevant experience, interest and market knowledge can be demonstrated.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to take direct responsibility for clients and to become actively involved in client and business development initiatives. There is significant scope for you to build a practice and contribute to the wider success of the firm. There are excellent prospects for progression within this role and within the firm as a whole.
On offer is a top of the market salary and benefits package and a genuine progression path which perhaps does not exist in more mainstream Corporate teams of other firms.
If you are interested in a confidential discussion about this role, please contact Terry Cape on 0113 238 5965.
Please note that CapeClarke advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the level of experience required for the role and this does not prohibit applications from candidates who are able to demonstrate the necessary skills and experience. We will aim to respond to your enquiry as soon as possible but CapeClarke does receive a high number of applications and if we have not contacted you within 5 days, your application has not met the requirements of our client.
