Legal Counsel/Senior Legal Counsel

About our client:

As a national provider of commercial real estate investment and debt services, this leading organisation provides expert investment management and loan orgination options to both borrowers and investors. With a wide client base including superannuation, investment institutions and high-net worth individuals, this company is now seeking a Legal Counsel to fulfil a maternity leave contract.

The role:

Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this role works across a wide expanse of the business' legal aspects. Functions include:

• Providing strong legal advice in relation to a range of equity transactions including structuring and restructuring complex transactions
• Drafting, negotiating and reviewing a range of investment agreements in collaboration with multiple teams of the business
• Drive the legal management of transaction structuring, monitoring and execution on construction loans
• Review and assess documentation to manage compliance and mitigate legal risks to the business
• Liase and manage external litigation as well as collaboration with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

About you

As the Senior Compliance Manager you will be an ambitious, professional and articulate individual and possess the following skills:

• At least 4-6 years PQE, with either private practice or in-house experience managing transactions across private equity or property
• Strong experience driving real estate finance is preferred
• Relevant tertiary qualification and current Australian practising certificate
• In-depth exposure in project management and managing risk
