This City Firm are currently looking for a senior associate with 8+pqe to support and develop their thriving trusts practice which is part of the wider Charity & Social Enterprise team.
The firm's top ranked Charity and Social Enterprise department has a stand out reputation in the sector. Their clients include small grassroots organisations, household name charities, international NGOs, family and corporate foundations as well as charities that position themselves as social enterprises due to their commercial activities. Their work also covers every area of activity including children and young people, education, the arts, disability, animal welfare, the environment, human rights, social enterprise, social finance and faith.
This exceptional opportunity working directly with the lead partner, two associates, a solicitor and a trainee, will cover a broad range of charity law and governance issues, particularly those involving complex charitable trusts and endowments, Royal Charter bodies and statutory charities. It may also involve advising on charity legacies. You should have at least 8 years relevant experience of advising trusts and, though not essential, it is also desirable for you to have experience in general private client, wills and probate.
Though this is principally a trusts role there will be opportunities to develop other areas of expertise in line with personal interests and client demand. Their practice is extremely diverse, including establishment and charity registration, regulatory issues, fundraising, grants, mergers, incorporations, spin-outs, governance, commercial contracts, trusts, social finance, data privacy, elections and campaigning. Accordingly they will offer you opportunities to undertake both advisory and transactional work at the very cutting edge of charity and social enterprise law, supported by a comprehensive training programme and specialist PSL team.
