The organisation
Our client is a fast growing software solutions house specialising in the Data Analytics and Business Intelligence software applications sector. Employing over 1,500 staff throughout EMEA alone (250 UK), our client works with over 28,000 customers in 100 countries. Due to growth and demand for this highly innovative BI application, our client is now looking to recruit a lawyer based between the company's Berkshire and London offices to help support the Russian Region.
The role
Based between the Berkshire and London offices the role involves working within an EMEA legal team (centralised in the UK). The position involves a wide variety of work including everything that comes into the business externally as well as supporting the organisation internally on all matters in relation to drafting and negotiation of complex software licensing agreements, distribution agreements, procurement agreements and a myriad of other commercial contract work. Level of contact will be throughout the entire business from the Senior Management Team all the way down. Primary internal contacts will be sales, commercial, and finance teams. The role operates under US GAAP principles and so a working knowledge of this would be desirable. Direct clients cover all sectors; therefore this is a 360-degree market position (working with all clients throughout all sectors).
The candidate
Candidates will be fluent in Russian and will also possess a strong command of English as a working language. Candidates will ideally come from a software house/IT Services company and have a solid appreciation of software licensing, services agreements, channel agreement and US GAAP principles. Candidates with Cloud computing/SaaS experience would be desirable. Candidates will need to have worked alongside in-house technology sales teams (direct and in-direct) as well as Finance and other commercial stakeholder clients. Candidates must possess a ‘can-do’ attitude and show a clear ability to work independently. Must also be a team player, willing to learn and support the business on ad-hoc projects as the business/department develops.
