PSL - Corporate - We have a permanent and 12 month contract
LexisPSL Corporate, which provides online practical guidance services for corporate and in-house lawyers, is looking for an experienced transactional lawyer to join our established team. The role is full time and is office-based.
The successful candidate will have worked at a well-respected law firm. They will have been extensively involved in high level domestic and cross-border deals and have developed an excellent practical knowledge of corporate law in general. Candidates should in particular have substantial and wide-ranging experience of one or more of the following: equity capital markets transactions (Main Market and/or AIM), listed company advisory work, private equity, private company M&A and public company takeovers.
Whilst the emphasis is on transactional rather than PSL experience, a demonstrable interest and aptitude for knowledge acquisition and a genuine desire to communicate knowledge to others is essential. The ability to cut through detailed original source materials to identify the salient points and to provide clear, practical and insightful advice is key. The successful candidate must be organised and highly driven.
An outgoing personality and a good bank of contacts in the corporate legal market is another important aspect of this wide-ranging role, as the candidate will have to work with a variety of different stakeholders in the business as well as with customers and potential customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new content that is of a high standard, technically and editorially, for the Lexis®PSL Corporate module based on customer need, including new precedents, practical guidance notes, checklists and other content types which best suit the material, becoming familiar with, and applying, best practice and house style
- Responsibility for overall coordination, oversight and quality control of content in allocated topics
- Maintain own knowledge base and expertise and contribute to and assist in the development of our current awareness legal update service, ensuring it continually evolves and responds to market trends and expectations
- Devise new products and services and support the marketing function for delivery of new products and services to market
- Contribute to other areas of business where appropriate (eg corporate journals, books, webinars).
- Network and collaborate with the corporate market to maintain profile and reputation and to keep in touch with market developments, and develop and exploit market contacts to support content and services development
- Assist the LexisAsk team with customer queries
- Provide senior level support to the sales team by meeting with customers as appropriate to provide demos of the product, receive feedback and to keep up to date with customer need
- Collaborate with the LexisPSL teams at large and the wider Lexis business, supporting best practice development, sharing expertise and identifying potential business/product opportunities
Person Specification:
- UK qualified lawyer working in corporate law
- Experience of leading large corporate transactions
- Extensive client delivery experience
- Comprehensive current knowledge of corporate law and market practice
- Real understanding of the corporate legal community and market
- Good contacts in the corporate market
