DLA Piper is a global law firm with 4,200 lawyers in the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East, positioning us to help companies with their legal needs around the world. We strive to be the leading global business law firm by delivering quality and value to our clients.
Our London or Leeds team now seek an exceptional Data Protection lawyer from a leading practice or organisation with 3 years'+ pqe or equivalent. With over 100 data protection lawyers across the world, we have a strong track record in both public and private sectors, with particular expertise in media, financial services, technology, pharmaceutical, communications, insurance, retail, transport, health, manufacturing and e-business. Candidates who have worked in those sectors will have a distinct advantage. We act on all types of transactions, combining our technical knowledge of data protection, data security, records management, privacy, confidentiality and freedom of information with practical experience and understanding of business needs. The multi-jurisdictional nature of many of such transactions plays strongly to the firm's unrivalled globalnetwork of offices and expertise.
The successful candidate will possess an excellent academic background, developed team working skills, and considerable business development expertise. A logical and organised approach to managing client files is key, as is the ability to plan and complete projects to the highest standards. A pro-active, commercial approach to help drive the practice forward is essential. Although the role is Data Protection/Privacy focussed, some exposure to wider IPT work would be useful. We offer first rate support in the form of tailored training, partner time, and excellent career prospects.
