Abacus Legal was set up in order to deal with the increasing demand in the legal sector for an agency with the expertise to offer a catchall recruitment solution to employers and candidates alike.
The agency is owned and founded by Steven Clarke, a Cambridge law graduate, and a former City solicitor who specialised in international trade and commercial litigation before moving into legal recruitment. Steven has brought together his experience both from working within the legal profession and from several years of working within the legal recruitment sector, to establish an agency that has reinvented consulting and brought back the human touch to what had become a very characterless sector.
AbacusLegal has identified a need within the profession for an agency that empathises with the multitude of issues affecting lawyers seeking a career move. Abacus Legal has the expertise, under one roof to offer advice on anything from securing a new partnership position within a blue chip private practice, to securing a part time locum role within a public sector authority.
We understand that not everybody is looking for the same thing from a recruitment agency and that the human element is all-important for anybody seeking a career move or career advice. That’s why we will spend time with both candidates and employers in order to truly understand exactly what it is they looking for from us.
With the advent of web technology, which undoubtedly has a significant role to play in recruitment, we feel that human interaction has been unnecessarily removed from what is a very human process. Abacus Legal have developed a fully interactive service which takes the best that technology has to offer whilst still ensuring that the human element is very much to the fore.
Abacus have found that both employers and candidates have found the return to old fashioned consultancy a refreshing change from an industry that has lost itself in technology and forgotten that its most important commodity is one that it deals with every day – People!
