Linklaters keeps 83% of qualifiers as NQs
Linklaters has retained 83 per cent of its March-qualifying trainees.
The magic circle firm eventually kept on 45 of a total of 54 final-seat trainees, after offering jobs to 49.
The figure is similar to the firm’s retention last autumn, when 46 of 55 stayed on. Linklaters’ best result of recent times came in autumn 2014, when 93 per cent of qualifiers were retained.
Clifford Chance and Freshfields have yet to make their retention figures public, but Allen & Overy has kept on 91 per cent of its spring 2016 NQs.

The news follows the announcement last week from Linklaters that it is to introduce a raft of changes to its salaries, bonuses and benefits in a bid to create a sustainable and attractive recruitment and retention model, including extra holiday, added bonuses and one day a week working from home for all qualified lawyers.
