Unique opportunity for an energy associate to take on a varied private practice role, providing a full range of corporate, commercial, asset and project finance advice to an offshore oil & gas and LNG client base. Would suit a lawyer who is currently in house in an energy business, or in private practice and eager to have a varied diet of work while specialising in this sector.
The firm is a global leader, with energy as a main focus for growth. Their clients in this space are largely small and mid sized offshore oil & gas and LNG businesses.
The team deals with E&P projects, LNG projects and other offshore energy projects, so work may involve a mix of:
* Advising on a wide range of commercial and project contracts.
* This can include shipping contracts, construction contracts, service and operating agreements etc.
* Working on a pseudo in house capacity for O&G businesses, working closely and directly with the in house teams
We anticipate that the person recruited for this will have a number of years of post qualification experience, although more junior lawyers who can demonstrate capability early on will also be considered.
The working environment is one of the main selling points of this firm; while this team is busy and there is a lot of work on, the culture is down to earth and the firm is generally a good place to be. They will expect lawyers joining the business to have a high degree of autonomy; this is a small team where you will have support but will certainly be expected to take the initiative and nurture existing relationships.
