Key responsibilities:
The Conduct Risk Officer, with assistance from the Support Team, is responsible for establishing and leading the conduct risk framework including the methods and standards through which conduct risk will be managed within the secured recoveries team. The Conduct Risk Officer reports to Anthony Davies (Unit Partner) and to Angela Robertson (General Counsel).
- Development and maintenance of risk processes for defining mitigating actions and monitoring their implementation
- Ensure policies, principle statements & controls suitably demonstrate management of conduct risks within risk appetite.
- Facilitate a risk aware culture amongst all teams.
- Ensure escalation mechanisms are established and are being used.
- Communicating outputs from the risk management process to internal and external stakeholders
- Approving steps to mitigate or compensate individual customer detriment.
- Lead the implementation of policies that will make the team the best in class for management of conduct risk.
- Provide expert advice on the impact and risks arising from regulation or internal changes.

- Formal risk qualification(s)
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to understand business issues
- Ability to compare risk and reward
- Ability to promote risk culture across a multi team environment
- Numerical and analytical skills
- The successful candidate will be a highly organized, self-motivated individual who is proactive and has a strong sense of ownership.
Key competencies:
- Knowledge of the financial services industry; preferably in a compliance or internal audit background.
- Understanding of Operational Risk and associated regulations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as the role involves a high amount of interaction with senior management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and related applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Visio, Project).
- Self-starter with a can-do approach.
