This highly respected and ambitious law firm is looking for a Property Litigation Associate to join its highly reputable team which boasts an impressive client base.
The team advises on all aspects of commercial landlord and tenant that arise from large-scale portfolio management and also on property disputes such as option disputes, enforcement of development agreements, easements, general conveyancing/title problems and planning litigation. As part of this team you will be involved in some commercial landlord and tenant work but the majority of the work will be for house builders and commercial developers on development related disputes and for utilities companies in relation to their property disputes.
Work Highlights
* defending a substantial claim for damages arising out of misrepresentations, negligence and breach of contract on the sale of development land
* advice on wayleaves and statutory rights/diversion issues in respect of telecoms and electricity operators
* advising an electricity operator in relation to several inquiries and various CPO disputes
* advising utility clients on the impact of infrastructure projects, including HS2, Hinckley C and various energy projects
* advising a number of residential developers on village green or footpath applications, including several decided at public inquiry
* advising residential and commercial developers in relation to various different applications to several different Secretaries of State, including a number determined at inquiry
* claims for tenant clients against landlords for unreasonably withholding consents to assign leases
* a number of claims relating to conditional break notices
You will need to:
* have trained with a highly respected law firm, preferably a city or national law firm
* have an excellent training record, one seat gained within a recognised and respected Property Litigation team.
* have a very strong academic background
* be highly organised and motivated
* possess excellent written and drafting skills as well as good communication and client handling skills
