Eversheds is an award winning law firm with strong presence in Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific.
Our international real estate finance team comprises of almost 50 lawyers. The team is a dedicated practice area of the firm and is supported by a leading banking team and a leading UK and international real estate practice. Our team has extensive experience in advising on a range of domestic and international real estate finance transactions, in all sectors of the market including investment, development, whole loan, mezzanine, shariah and other structured financing. The firm is also very active advising sellers and purchases on distressed debt portfolio acquisitions. Our international expertise allows us to advise on financings in Europe, the Middle East, the Far East and other regions.
The practice is well known for investment finance and also has market leading credentials in large scale development finance transactions. For example in recent years the firm advised on the financing of the Shard and other significant projects such as the 02 Arena Hotel.
We are keen to recruit top tier, talented individuals to our practice to support with the continuous growth and high quality work. This is an excellent opportunity for an Associate to develop and establish their career in an expanding real estate finance team with real momentum in the market, who can offer genuine career progression opportunities right through to partnership.
As part of our real estate finance team you will be responsible for advising on all aspects of financing complex investments and projects. These transactions will often be multi-lender and multi-jurisdictional and involve intercreditor issues.
Your client base will be varied and will inevitably involve lender and borrower mandates as well as opportunities to represent both senior and mezzanine providers. A material proportion of your work will be in development finance (as well as structured investment deals).
You will work closely with leading real estate finance partners and be supported by dedicated real estate lawyers, construction lawyers and a leading real estate tax team.
You will be given significant responsibility according to your level of experience but in a supportive environment where the senior team members take training and career development very seriously. All fee earners in the team are encouraged to participate in business development activity with clients and targets. Associates will be given more latitude than at other firms to pursue their marketing initiatives and supported financially in doing so.
We are keen to hear from candidates that have experience in developing real estate finance across Europe, as well as candidates who have worked for practices with a strong presence in the middle and far east, acting for inward investors in the UK and European real estate markets. Ideally the candidate will have experience of working on structured transactions involving senior and mezzanine finance.
This position is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and talented Associate who is looking for genuine career progression in their next role.
