Our client, a life sciences charity, seeks a Patent Administrator to join it's Technology Transfer division.
This is a unique opportunity to work with academic, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and charity organisations in moving medical research forward into viable and accessible patient treatments. You will have the opportunity to supplement your commercial and IP management skills with diagnostic and drug discovery expertise. You will principally be providing administrative support for the company's work on protection, development and commercial exploitation of their drug advancement inventions. Reporting to one of the Senior Business Managers, you will be responsible for managing patent formalities for 3-4 Business Managers. This will include coordinating patent related administration, maintaining accurate electronic records of all patent documents and correspondence to ensure business continuity, liaising with the wider business in relation to monitoring agreement income and outgoing revenue and reporting on key data.
You will ideally be a CIPA-qualified paralegal in a patent law firm, although qualified is not essential. You will possess a wide range of administrative and organisational experience with a particular emphasis on good oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, experience of using databases, a good knowledge of IP protection principles and the general patent process. Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience and the company has a wide ranging benefits package.
