In response to an ever changing regulatory landscape, this top-tier institution are in the process of restructuring their regulatory team in order to provide a more effective service across the wider business. Rather than relying solely on the knowledge of compliance executives, the business have chosen to utilise a team of lawyers with a proven background working within certain regulatory frameworks.
Rather than acting as the regulatory 'police', these are highly commercial roles working closely with the funds and ETF teams advising on a number of regulations. Working closely with the deal teams, advising on deal and new product structuring from a regulatory perspective you'll need experience operating within ETF and UCITs frameworks.
Whilst you won't need to be a regulatory specialist, you'll need to demonstrate a working knowledge of the above regulations as well as be able to apply them in a extremely commercial environment. This will be a fast-paced assignment, offering exposure at all levels of the legal and wider banking teams.
The assignments are likely to be ongoing and require lawyers able to join them at the first opportunity. Unfortunately, you will need to be available on less than a months' notice. The assignment is based in Canary Wharf.
This particular organisation are willing to offer guidance and training to lawyers who may not have an intricate knowledge of the regulations. In exchange they are looking for a lawyer with:
- Training from either a City/National firm or reputable in-house legal team.
- Extensive experience working within UK banking regulatory frameworks
- A pragmatic approach to problem solving and the resolution of complex regulatory issues.
